Notice - Journal of Controlled Release 표지논문 게재

"Park , “Thermally Triggered Intracellular Explosion of Volume Transition Nanogels for Necrotic Cell Death”, Journal of Controlled Release, in press, 2009 Elsevier science B.V. 에서 발간하는 Journal of Controlled Release (I.F. 4.756) 에 표지 논문으로 게재되었습니다. Abstract Here we report a novel class of super-expandable smart nanogels that undergo nano- to micro-scale volume transition in response to temperature change, applicable for thermally triggered death of cancer cells. The nanogels fabricated by light cross-linking between oligo( -lactic acid) and poly(ethylene glycol) grafted poly( l -lysine) exhibited a reversible volume transition from ~ 150 nm at 37 °C to ~ 1.4 μm at 15 °C. Pharmacy Choice - Pharmaceutical News - Study results from University of Utrecht provide new insights into controlled release - July 26, 2009

"In this paper, we report self-exploding microcapsules which can release their content in a pulsed fashion after a certain incubation time at physiological conditions, scientists writing in the Journal of Controlled Release report (see also Controlled Release). . The system is based on a biodegradable microgel core surrounded by a bio-polyelectrolyte membrane. When the microgel core degrades, the swelling pressure increases and finally ruptures the membrane leading to release of the encapsulated materials. We show that the explosion time and subsequent release of 50 nm, latex nanoparticles (used as a model), can be tailored by varying the cross-link density of the microgels, wrote B.G. Degeest and colleagues, University of Utrecht. . The researchers concluded: Further we also address the biocompa" [3]

"Controlled Release New findings from Ben-Gurion University, Department of Chemical Engineering in the area of controlled release described March 25th, 2007 New investigation results, "Bubble growth within the skin by rectified diffusion might play a significant role in sonophoresis," are detailed in a study published in Journal of Controlled Release. "Low frequency ultrasound has successfully been used for enhancing transdermal transport of a variety of different molecules. This phenomenon is referred to as sonophoresis," scientists writing in the Journal of Controlled Release report. "Several attempts have been made to investigate the enhancing mechanism in order to modulate the overall process. In this study we assess whether rectified diffusion is a process that occurs within the skin, which could... Source: Medical Device Law Weekly (2007-03-25) View Other Issues of Medical Device" [31]
